Baby

So much is new, and you’re learning your baby one day at a time.

A WORD FOR THIS SEASON

You’re probably feeling tired in a way you didn’t know was possible. You love this baby so much, and you still lie awake wondering if you’re getting any of it right.

Broken sleep, a baby who only wants you, and a mama who forgot to eat lunch. That is normal for this first year. It is not a sign you’re failing.

I’ve walked the baby season, mama. I know how long the nights feel and how loud the what-ifs get at 3 a.m.

Jess

Does this sound like you?

  • “I can’t remember the last time I slept more than a few hours.”
  • “Am I bonding with my baby the way I should be?”
  • “I feel guilty taking any time for myself.”
  • “Everyone has advice and I don’t know who to listen to.”

You don’t have to have it all figured out. Isaiah 40:11 says He gently leads those that have young, and that means you. Lean on Him tonight. He is carrying you both.

A TOOL FOR TONIGHT

A two-minute bedtime blessing

Your baby can’t repeat the words yet, but your voice is already the safest sound in their world. Start the habit now, while it’s simple.

  1. 1Hold your baby close, slow your breathing, and look into their eyes.
  2. 2Say the same few words every night: You are loved. You are chosen. You are a child of God.
  3. 3Put your hand on their head and pray Jesus over them, even if it’s one whispered sentence.
  4. 4Then pray one sentence for you: Lord, give me rest and give me wisdom for tomorrow.

Inside the membership, you’ll find more simple rhythms like this one, plus a community of mamas who get it.
